Collaborative projects
Gawthorpe Hall
Arts Council England & National Lottery Project Funding developed Strands of Place and Time project, in collaboration with Manchester School of Art where Poppy lectures Fashion.
Strands of Place and Time explored ideas of cultural heritage and migration by commissioning new work in response to world textiles in the collection. Both exhibitions were part of Super Slow Way’s politics of cloth themed 2019 British Textile Biennial in Pennine Lancashire in October 2019.
Manchester House, Manchester
Commissioned by head chef Nathaniel Tofan from Manchester house. Mirlo designed a bespoke series of artisan ceramics for the restaurant to enhance the sensory and aesthetic experience. The aim of the project was to create a deeper connection with food and the experience of fine dining. The ceramics embrace various sculptural shapes, that were all hand built using unique glaze techniques.
SKOSH, York
Commissioned by Skosh York, an independent prestigious restaurant, to design and make a series of artisan hand-built ceramics. Following the brand’s philosophy and affection for craftsmanship, the series aims to enhance the sensory and aesthetic experience of fine dining and connection to food.
